Second Dinner Announces Marvel Snap Now Has a 4th Location Accessible via Toll

Second Dinner has unveiled Marvel Snap’s newest mechanic: a fourth location—accessible only if you pay a toll. The new zone, officially named the Monelocation, will soon appear in-game if your app store account has a credit card saved on file.

“Sometimes location variance results in the inability to play cards” explained game designer Kyle Imbalm. “We’ve been exploring ways to mitigate these ‘non-games’ and an optional fourth lane seemed like a no-brainer. The only question remaining was how to piss off literally everyone by implementing it. Putting stuff behind a paywall has worked well in that regard thus far, so why not slap one on a new lane?”

While this move justifiably solidifies Marvel Snap as “pay to win”, developers were quick to clarify that free-to-play users are able to interact with the new location as well.

“Once a monelocation has been financed by an opponent the player can either buy in to play a card or watch an unskippable ad that is slightly shorter in length than the turn timer. While most of these ads are just a looping video of Ben Brode saying ‘You can’t just buy all the cards’ we’re confident players will also soon see ads for crypto scams and boner pills.”

Reactions across the Snap community were swift and divisive.

“Card games these days are less about skill and more about financial investment,” said Reddit user AgathaPlays, “If my opponent has the same card but I spend $50 on a variant why shouldn’t I have the advantage? This new location is perfect for those of us who think our Infinite Rank should be directly tied to a player’s level of financial irresponsibility.”

At time of press rumors were circulating that the new 4th location will be unveiled during an upcoming event called “Just Buy the Cubes”.
